Akshay Kumar has given back to back flops at the Indian box office. His last movie Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara is a big flop of the year and now Boss is also looking like the same. For a movie whose budget is around 70 crores, you need to have a very good first week to collect big but Boss has not able to cross 50 crores mark in it. Specially when you consider that Boss had a 9 days days long week. So definitely a flop from Akshay Kumar.
Boss 1st Week Collection Report
Before the release, Akshay and his team were really hopeful for a big collection from Boss. Movie was released on holiday in approx 2,750 screens but after the first day, everyone said that Boss had nothing new. Everything was similar to Akshay’s previous movie Rowdy Rathore. These type of negative mouth to mouth publicity really harmed the movie in coming days. Movie started the first week with 12.50 crores and finishes with 1.85 crores. In the last two days of the week, Boss movie’s collection is 2 crores on 2nd Wednesday and 1.85 crores on 2nd Thursday. So the 9 days or first week’s total box office collection of Boss in Indian box office is 49.40 crores.
Boss 1st weekend collection – 40.75 crores
Boss Monday collection – 2.50 crores
Boss Tuesday collection – 2.30 crores
Boss 2nd Wednesday collection – 2 crores
Boss 2nd Thursday collection – 1.85 crores
Boss First Week Total collection – 49.40 crores
The failure of Boss is giving something think to all the Bollywood movie makers. After the recent success of masala entertainer or formula based movie, every director and big star started making the same kind of movies. The trend of these type of movies started with Salman’s Wanted, then Dabangg, Rowdy Rathore and many another movies in which same thing is shown. Nonsense action, hit songs, very average story and one – two messy dialogues. The first few movies got both appreciation and collection but now in the recent time, such movies had neither got collection nor appreciation. So hopefully in the coming time, we will get to see something new.
