Chennai Express has completed one full week at the Indian box office. Shahrukh Khna and Deepika Padukone’s romantic – action – comedy movie has came out with more than 150 crores collection in it. Yes Chennai Express has crossed the 150 crores mark 1st week. Movie needed 13 crores on the Thursday but it collected more than that. According to some early estimation, Chennai Express collection on 15 August is around 15 crores. So after the 1st week or 15 August, the total box office collection of Chennai Express is around 153 crores crores. Movie will be tracking Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ek Tha Tiger and 3 Idiot’s box office collection in 2nd week.

Chennai Express got good competition from Once Upon a Time In Mumbai Dobaara but Shahrukh’s movie maintained a better collection and occupancy on 15 August. On 15 August movie got 65 – 70 % occupancy in most of the single screens and multiplexes. Now movie has crossed the 150 crores mark and is eyeing 200 crores. Only 3 other movies Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (190 crores), Ek Tha Tiger (194 crores) and 3 Idiot (203 crores) are ahead of it. The way Chennai Express is going, all these targets looks very much within the reach of SRK.
