Every year on 5 September, India celebrates its teacher’s day. On this day, we celebraes the birth day of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India’s second President and one of the most respected scholar in India. He was also a teacher of philosophy and when he became the president of India in 1962, his students started celebrating his birthday as Teacher’s day. From that time, India celebrates 5 September as the Teacher’s Day.
Although we should give respect to our teachers everyday but the 5 September is a special one. On the teacher’s day, every student praised his teacher in a special way. On the teachers day, special events or programs are organised by the student in collages to wish their teachers Happy Teacher’s Day. Some gifts like pen, flowers etc are also presented to the teacher to appreciate their work.
